School principal and teacher Ra’eesah Pillay said the day began with a cheerful welcome from the preschool staff, followed by creative activities, such as brightly coloured artwork, beading, and decorating yummy cupcakes, all lovingly created by the children as gifts for their grandparents. “We wanted to create a moment where generations could connect and share in the joy of learning and play. Grandparents are such an important part of our children’s lives, and today was about celebrating that bond.”

She added that, for many, it was an emotional day – full of smiles, hugs, and even a few happy tears.

One grandparent, whose name can’t be disclosed per school policy, said she enjoyed the day. “Spending time here with my granddaughter reminded me of how precious these years are. I’ll treasure this day forever.”

Tree Tops Montessori plans to make grandparents’ day an annual tradition, ensuring that the valuable connection between generations continues to flourish.
The event concluded with light refreshments and plenty of photo opportunities, capturing the joy and warmth that filled the room.
