Midrand Learner Transport Association helps clean up outside local school

Phil Pillay, association spokesperson, said they want to instill the culture of not littering in the young ones.

The Midrand Learner Transport Association (MLTA) cleaned up outside the Noordwyk Primary School premises along 9th Road on September 19.

Association spokesperson Phil Pillay said this was to ensure visibility within the community and protect their business’s dignity by ensuring safe spaces where they operate.

The clean-up was carried out with the association members, Ward 112 councillor Lerato Mphefo, together with some community members.

“We felt it would be good for us as MLTA to clean. We picked up litter and swept the street to ensure visibility within the community. We also wanted to connect with other parents who might not know about us as an official scholar transport,” said Pillay.

He concluded that it was vital to help clean up outside the school premises, which would also instill the culture in the young primary school learners.
