Midrand SPCA calls on community to back Charity Golf Day
Midrand SPCA’s annual Charity Golf Day returns on November 12, and every swing helps rescue, feed, and rehome animals in need.
The Midrand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is inviting the community to trade a day on the fairways for a lifetime of second chances for vulnerable animals.
The much-loved Charity Golf Day returns to Kyalami Country Club on November 12, promising not just great golf, but lasting impact.
Now a staple on the local fundraising calendar, the event brings together businesses, animal lovers, and community members in support of the SPCA’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable animals.

Brenda Lucas, the chairperson of the Midrand SPCA, said the fundraiser plays a critical role in sustaining the organisation. “We receive no government funding, so everything we do relies on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and events like this.

The funds raised go directly towards veterinary care, food, shelter maintenance, and emergency rescues.”
Beyond raising money, Lucas said the event fostered awareness around responsible pet ownership, and strengthened the community’s network of animal advocates.
This year, organisers are aiming to make the golf day the biggest and most impactful yet. The day will include, not only 18 holes of golf, but also new networking opportunities, enhanced branding exposure for sponsors, and additional fundraising activities.
“We are proud to partner with Kyalami Country Club as our official venue,” said Lucas, “and to have the support of local businesses and residents who share our passion for animal welfare.”

Sponsors and partners contribute in various ways, from sponsoring holes and prizes to donating services, ensuring the day is both memorable and meaningful.
“Every swing, every sponsorship, and every act of generosity on the day helps us continue our mission: Giving animals a second chance at life.”
The SPCA is calling on the Midrand community, businesses, and animal lovers to take part in the November event. “Together, we can save lives and give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.”
