Midrand’s Acts of Love aims to make Christmas brighter for vulnerable families
With rising financial pressures hitting households hard, a Midrand outreach is stepping in to make sure no child is forgotten, and no family is left without support this Christmas.
This festive season, Acts of Love is once again mobilising the community through its annual Christmas initiative, Packed With Love.
This project is dedicated to uplifting children and families in need across Midrand and the surrounding areas.

Veronica Ragovan, ministry coordinator at Acts of Love, said their goal this year is to reach 1 500 people with practical love and support.
“We are preparing 1 000 Christmas gift bags for orphaned children, visually impaired adults, and children in impoverished communities who otherwise may not receive anything this Christmas,” she explained.
These thoughtfully prepared gift bags include age-appropriate toys, treats, hygiene items, stationery, and other essentials to bring joy and dignity to the beneficiaries who receive them.
Alongside this, the organisation is assembling 500 grocery hampers to support struggling families during the holidays. “These hampers provide much-needed relief at a time when many households face increased financial pressure. For many families, these parcels help ensure that Christmas remains a season of hope rather than hardship.”
For years, Acts of Love outreach work has been a lifeline for vulnerable individuals in the community. From emergency support to ongoing community upliftment, Acts of Love continues to stand in the gap, meeting practical needs, restoring dignity, and offering encouragement.

“Our heart is to ensure that every child feels seen, valued, and loved,” added Ragovan. “Packed With Love is more than a project—it’s a movement of showing God’s compassion and love tangibly. This year, we are trusting our community to partner with us so we can bring hope to as many families as possible. Together, we truly can continue changing the world one person at a time through acts of love.”
The impact has been deeply felt, not only by those who receive assistance but also by volunteers who witness firsthand how a simple act of kindness can transform a life.
As part of this year’s feature, Yolanda Ngqawani, a dedicated volunteer who has served faithfully with Acts of Love for the past three years, said, “For me, Acts of Love is about choosing kindness every single day, not as an occasional gesture, but as a way of living. When we choose love consistently, it creates a ripple effect that reaches far beyond us.”
Members of the public are encouraged to support the initiative through financial contributions. Every donation, no matter how small, helps the organisation extend its reach and make Christmas brighter for someone in need.
