Festive joy lights up Midrand as seniors gather for annual Christmas celebration

Festive spirit lit up Waterfall Walk as Midrand’s seniors gathered for one of the community’s most cherished holiday traditions.

Festive spirit filled the air at Waterfall Walk as Midrand’s senior residents came together for one of the community’s most treasured traditions: The over-60s Christmas party.

The December 5 celebration transformed the Bakehouse into a hub of laughter, colour, and companionship, reminding all in attendance of the joy that comes from shared moments.

Supported by Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe and community member Ria Human, the event once again proved to be a highlight on the local festive calendar.

Guests enjoyed a variety of heartwarming activities, from a lively colouring-in competition to a cheerful secret Santa exchange.

Deppe said the gathering strengthens community bonds. “I hope the community leaves with happy, loving, and friendship-filled memories. I wish everyone a safe and prosperous holiday season and look forward to seeing them all in the new year.”
The annual event continues to honour Midrand’s older residents, celebrating them with warmth, appreciation, and the festive spirit they so richly deserve.
