Lanto Montessori’s Grade 7s step into their next chapter

Parents beamed with pride as Lanto Montessori honoured the dedication, resilience, and achievements of its outgoing Grade 7 class.

Lanto Montessori International Schools recently marked an important milestone as it hosted a heartfelt valediction ceremony for its Grade 7 learners who are now preparing to enter secondary school.

Thirty-five learners were celebrated at the event, which featured inspiring messages from school leaders, parents, and the young graduates themselves.

Parent Ziad Sutton, whose two children, Zunaid and Jasmine, graduated this year, expressed deep gratitude for the solid foundation the school had provided.

“Today’s valediction is a very important event for our children going to high school,” he said. “Some of these learners have been here since Grade R, and this marks the start of their next chapter. The school has done wonders for these children. As parents, teachers, and directors, we can all be proud of how far they have come.”

Sutton encouraged his children to carry forward the values they gained at Lanto Montessori.

“The opportunities ahead are limitless. This school has taught them courage and how to be good human beings. Whether they remain here or move on to a new school, the foundation laid will help them excel. I am proud of how my children have progressed, and I know every parent feels the same.

To Lanto Montessori, we say thank you for everything you’ve done for our children.” School director Anna Difo Mojapelo echoed this sentiment, highlighting the unique Montessori approach that shaped the outgoing class.

“These children have been with us for seven years, and today is a celebration of their journey,” said Mojapelo. “Montessori is different, we are not preparing them only for matric or university; we are preparing them for life. They have learned critical thinking, compassion, empathy, love, and brotherhood. Those are our values, and they are excelling.”

Guest speaker Kozanai Mhlanga urged the learners to remain focused as they enter a more demanding phase of their education.

“We want to remind them to take their education seriously and avoid distractions. Many young people today fall into negative influences such as drugs or crime. These learners must stay committed to their goals and not be swayed by modern-day challenges.”

With confidence, pride, and a strong foundation behind them, the Class of 2025 now steps forward into a new chapter of learning and growth.
