Rabie Ridge police arrest alleged drunk driver after fatal crash into Klipfontein View yard
A 19-year-old woman was injured, and a 34-year-old woman died after an alleged drunk driver lost control and crashed into a yard on Nancy Ndamase Street in Klipfontein View.
Police in Rabie Ridge have confirmed the arrest of a 30-year-old man following a fatal crash in Klipfontein View that claimed the life of a 34-year-old woman and left a 19-year-old woman injured.
The suspect was arrested on the night of April 5 and is facing charges of culpable homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol, and contravention of the Immigration Act.
The incident took place on Nancy Ndamase Street, where the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a gate and a wall. At the time of the crash, the victims were reportedly inside the yard.

According to police, the 34-year-old woman died at the scene, while the 19-year-old sustained injuries. Ekurhuleni District Police spokesperson Captain Nelda Sekgobela confirmed the arrest and said police are continuing with investigations.
“A 30-year-old male suspect was arrested on Sunday night, 2026-04-05, for culpable homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol, and contravention of the Immigration Act,” said Sekgobela.
“This follows the accident that claimed the life of a 34-year-old female and left a 19-year-old female injured in Klipfontein View after the driver lost control and crashed into the gate and the wall.”
The suspect was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on April 7. Police have not yet released further details surrounding the circumstances of the crash.
