There was a lot of cheering and laughter as learners and parents teamed up to battle it out in the sporting events.
Younger learners were treated to exciting entertainment, including face painting and jumping castles, which quickly became some of the most wanted games of the day.

Beyond the games, the fun day also brought a lively atmosphere with food vendors serving a range of delicious meals such as chips and boerewors rolls.
Parents and family members had an opportunity to explore a mini flea market, where various items were on display and available for purchase.
The fun day served as more than just a day of entertainment, as it strengthened the relationship between the school and families within the Summerhill Preparatory community.
Parents enjoyed spending quality time with their children in a relaxed environment, while teachers connected with learners outside the classroom setting.

One of the parents, Theo Mabirimisa, took part in the tug of war, and took her daughter for face painting and her little one to get a teddy bear at the mini flea market.
“Today was very nice, though it was cold; it was everything we anticipated,” Mabirimisa said.
“I enjoyed participating in the tug of war, and such events are needed because they are positive and good; they really help both parents and children play and bond.”

With the strong turnout and positive energy throughout the day, the event highlighted the importance of community engagement and family involvement in school activities.
