Art speaks louder than words at Kyalami Corner silent auction
The beauty of art was on full display at Doppio Zero at Kyalami Corner, all to raise funds for a good cause.
Doppio Zero at Kyalami Corner was transformed into a creative art hub on August 2, as the Inside Out Girls campaign hosted its Tell your story through art silent auction, bringing together artists and art enthusiasts for an afternoon of creativity and storytelling.
The event celebrated creativity while providing artists with an opportunity to showcase their work and tell personal stories through art. Attendees got to view a collection of paintings and mixed-media pieces before placing silent bids on the artworks they liked.

One of the artists, and senior citizen, Richard Ngojo, who showcased his art at the event, said it was important for him to be a part of the event. He said he felt it’s always good to show young people that old people can still make art, whilst using their art to contribute to a good cause.
The initiative, being the first fundraising event for the Inside Out Girls campaign, aimed to raise funds for the campaign while demonstrating how art can be a powerful form of expression, allowing artists to communicate experiences, emotions, and messages that may be difficult to put into words.

Proceeds from the silent auction will support the Inside Out Girls campaign’s ongoing outreach programmes, which focus on empowering girls and young women through education, mentorship, and community development initiatives.
In addition to bidding on the artwork, attendees had the opportunity to engage with participating artists, learn about the inspiration behind their creations, and gain a deeper understanding of the stories each piece represented.

Founder of the Inside Out Girls campaign Imani Ndaba said the event was designed not only to raise funds but also to create a space where artists could be seen, heard, and appreciated for their unique perspectives and talents.
By combining art, storytelling, and fundraising, the Tell your story through art silent auction highlighted the role creativity can play in inspiring conversations, building connections, and supporting meaningful community causes.

“We are hoping to raise funds in order to run our day-to-day costs, and also to help us run our outreach programmes, as it does take quite a lot of funds to do what we do. So, we are hoping that we sell at least one.”
