Another resident complains of Midway Mews shopping centre

Boitumelo Kgomo writes: I have friends who are disabled and they struggle to get out of the car at the paraplegic parking bays at Midway Mews Shopping Centre.

The parking bays are small, they should at least be the size of one and half parking bays. Due to the small size, when parked, a paraplegic driver is not able to open his door in order to exit his or her car, which makes the bays redundant.

A large Christmas tree was dumped in one of the two paraplegic parking spots at the centre. The tree has been there since shortly after Christmas and this is abusive, disrespectful and inconsiderate to those who need to use it.

A lot of complaints have come through about Midway Mews Shopping Centre, which is managed by Broll Properties.

In a previous matter, the centre told Midrand Reporter that there are planned renovations to improve the centre’s lifts and ramps for disabled persons. What has been your experience at the centre? Let us know in the comments below.
