Local church holds community soccer tournament aimed at community development
Freestylers coach Lunga ‘Tata’ Ndzotyana happy with players' application during the tournament and hopes they will develop winning mentality from such victories.

Noordwyk’s Siyajabula (we are happy) Soccer Freestylers won the Reach Out South Africa Soccer tournament hosted by the Christ Embassy Midrand Grand Central church.
The Top 4 tournament was held at Midrand High School on November 5.

Speaking on behalf of the church, Teboho Chesane said the purpose of the tournament was to uplift the community and encourage sportsmanship.
“It was also to help and aid players’ physical, mental and spiritual development, and expose players to different opportunities and encourage them to firmly focus on their dreams and work hard to achieve them,” said Chesane.

Spartans FC booked their spot in the final following a 2–0 win over Juckers FC from Daveyton and Freestylers beat Golden Warriors 3–2 in a five-goal thriller to set up an interesting Midrand derby final.

Freestylers went on to clinch the title with a 3–0 drubbing of Spartans.
Freestylers coach Lunga ‘Tata’ Ndzotyana said, “We had a full squad today and the combinations between the players are still there, so that’s how we got to win this tournament. We hope that the win will motivate the players and instil a winning mentality because we want them to be ambitious.”
