Chilli could leave Midrand Spoilers after seven years

The Spoilers starlet has been linked with an ABC Motsepe team and three other regional league teams.

Midrand Spoilers’ proficient midfielder Avyile ‘Chilli’ Mancasa might leave the club at the end of the season as Spoilers continue to struggle in the league.

The Spoilers star has been linked with an ABC Motsepe team and three other regional league teams. The clubs cannot be revealed as he will evaluate his options at the end of the season.

This is Chilli’s seventh season with Spoilers, and he has emerged over the years as the club’s darling. Playing a crucial role in their 2020/21 promotion to the regional league.

As much as he’s dreamed of playing in the professional league, moving to an ABC Motsepe team would be one step toward fulfilling that dream but, for him, triumphing on the professional stage with Spoilers would still be the pinnacle of his career.

“The club has helped me grow inside and outside the field and I want to achieve more with them. Our chairperson [Samuel Maboa] has been very helpful to me since I arrived and every player as well.”

Currently, Spoilers are facing relegations — sitting bottom of the league with 12 points after 27 games and this has prompted Maboa to do some reshuffling.

Maboa has previously voiced his frustrations about the team’s lack of performance, saying that most of the senior players will leave the club next season to rebuild from the U17s and U23s.

The 24-year-old sensational Chilli might not be in the club’s plan for next season as the chairperson strictly wants to deal with the U23s.

During last season’s top-four run, Chilli played a key role in most of Spoilers’ build-up play, frequently dropping deep or staying on the flank to link up with midfielders before making surging runs forward — scoring and assisting.

“He [Maboa] will decide who leaves, stays and signs on for next season. He is the one with the list of players and I do not know if I will be considered next season hence other club options,” concluded Chilli.
