Midrand Royals gears up for Tshwane League with trials

The Midrand Royals hosted its netball trials to ascertain the team's strengths and weaknesses ahead of the Tshwane League season.

Midrand Royals hosted its trials at Curro Sagewood on April 11 as part of preparations for the upcoming Tshwane League.

The trials brought together enthusiastic players from all around Midrand.

According to the chairperson and coach of the Midrand Royals, Thato Peterson, the club has solid players, including new ones as well, and they are showing incredible skill and confidence. She added that as the coaches, it gives them confidence that the teams will do extremely well in the Tshwane League.

The players were put through different drills to check their skill levels and overall understanding of the game, movement, passing and defence.

Players who are selected will form part of the mixed and seniors’ teams that will represent Midrand Royals in the league.

“Going into the league, I think we will be bringing in a lot of flair with the new members, and there has been a new direction in terms of players taking different positions. Like myself, I have moved from being a defending player to being a goal attack, so that will really do well for us in the league,” said Nkeu.

The club looks forward to a good season and encourages the community to support them as they compete in the Tshwane League.
