Nova Pioneer Midrand hosts Ruimsig and Ormonde for sports festival
Learners competed in soccer and netball for campus bragging rights as Nova Pioneer Midrand hosted Nova Pioneer Ruimsig and Nova Pioneer Ormonde for the Inter Nova Sports Festival.
Cheers from the sidelines, determined players, and fierce competition set the tone at Nova Pioneer Midrand on July 30, as three campuses went head-to-head at the Inter Nova Sports Festival.
Nova Pioneer Midrand hosted learners from Nova Pioneer Ruimsig and Nova Pioneer Ormonde for a day of sporting action aimed at promoting teamwork, healthy competition, and stronger bonds between the schools.

The festival featured soccer and netball, with learners competing across U14, U15, and U18 divisions.
Simphiwe Ntlatleng, head of sports at Nova Pioneer South Africa, said the festival was about more than determining winners.
“It is a sports festival where all our schools come together in celebration of sport. Where we participate and compete against one another, but also build cohesion and understanding between our campuses.”
The tournament format sees the participating schools face one another, with points accumulated throughout the day determining the overall Inter Nova champion.

However, sporting excellence was not the only prize up for grabs. Organisers also introduced a Spirit Trophy, which recognised the school that demonstrated the strongest support for its teams through encouragement and positive participation.
Ntlatleng said the trophy was intended to highlight the importance of supporting teammates and creating a positive sporting environment.
“The team that cheers the most for their teammates will definitely get that Spirit Trophy. It is about showing support for your teammates.
”With Midrand serving as the host campus, learners had the opportunity to welcome their peers from Ruimsig and Ormonde while competing for bragging rights across the various sporting categories.
Ntlatleng said he was pleased with the turnout.
“We are happy that everyone has joined us today, and we are just looking forward to a fantastic festival.”
