Ebony Park musician is on a journey to innovate

EBONY PARK – Ebony Park star musician set to release his new album titled, With you and only you.

When passion drives the heart.

Cape Town-born musician Tumi Luciano is breaking barriers and building his own type of sound.

Currently living in Ebony Park, Midrand, Luciano explains that music was always in him. “From when I was a child, when I joined the music fraternity the lines felt blurred, but I continued, I recorded and released my first-ever song in 2009 which was titled, Warning, and looking back now that song was terrible.”

With his album coming out soon, Luciano said that he is on a journey to create a new sound to innovate within the walls and boundaries of music in general, not just hip-hop.

“I do not specialise in one specific genre, but I have sort of created my own genre, my own lane and my own sound which I call the ‘Vibefusion’ (a mixture of hip-hop, house, RnB and Afro) to create my type of sound.”

While travelling this journey as a musician, Luciano added that it is not always easy as the challenges are multi-faceted.

“There are challenges financially, having to deal with different personalities, having to convince yourself not to give up even when the odds are against you and respect from people as I am doing something totally different to the norm. Just a whole bunch of noise.

“But, the passion for the art and craft has kept my fire alive, the love of performing for a crowd has kept me going and just being able to express myself and still make people dance and have a great time gives me life.”

Luciano said he is working on his masterpiece, “I am currently working on my album titled, With You and Only You, it has been one hell of a journey but it’s almost done. It could possibly be a double album and, on the other hand, there’ll be performances coming in the month of February and a radio tour with my team. I have already done the Tshwane leg of the tour and I am now going to do Johannesburg, Vaal and Bloemfontein.”
