COVID-19 shoved a lot of changes down our throats. While some of these changes include more people choosing to work from home more than the office, and most events opting to take place online, the pandemic has also brought physical activity to a halt in many adults’ lives.
Research shows that physical activity levels in adults have dipped tremendously since the pandemic. The lockdowns which were implemented in many parts of the world resulted in the shutting down of gyms and public parks which were the essential platforms for physical activity. The desire to exercise has weathered away because of this.
Although the restrictions have been relaxed, more and more people are still opting to refrain from intense exercise, choosing simpler activities such as walks. This decline in physical activity raises a huge concern on the health of adults in the long run.
