Entertainment trio to make a bang in Pienaar

Sifiso Ngwenya, Chicco Cossa and Banele Ndlovu are a group of entertainers called 'Shaye Banyanye'. They aim to put their stamp on Pienaar's entertainment industry.

Two comedians and a poet are aiming to take the entertainment industry in Pienaar by storm.

They call themselves ‘Shaye Banyanye’, and they have been bringing the hits during their performances.

The two comedians, Sifiso Ngwenya (25) and Chicco Cossa (24), and poet Banele Ndlovu (22) have been a package deal since 2021.
They are always performing together at churches, parties and even family gatherings, to serve the best locally brewed entertainment.

Ngwenya and Cossa are close friends and became comedians in 2012. “We attended an acting club together, and the directors would always assign us the funny characters, for which we did outstanding performances every time. We enjoyed doing that, and we decided to become comedians to make people laugh,” Ngwenya said. “We are versatile comedians. We create jokes from anything and tell them in whatever language we can. We hope to grow our brand and become the best comedians to come out of the township.”

Cossa echoed Ngwenya and could not help but mention that they have performed alongside talented local comedians and Pienaar’s funniest man, Mathew.

Ndlovu said he started his poetry journey in 2017. “I used to write poems from an early age, but did not have the courage to recite them. I finally got the courage to perform at my high school’s event. I performed well and have been doing so ever since.”

The trio said they met at a festival and became the entertainment crew they are now.

“We do have plans to grow the brand. We want to see our faces and names on most posters for the festivals in Pienaar. We want to establish an art school to groom young artists,” Cossa said. Ndlovu added Mpumalanga will see more of them in their stylish outfits, doing what they know best to entertain crowds.
