Two caught with fake cigarettes worth R100 000

Their White Volkswagen Polo was loaded with 11 boxes of Pacific Blue.

MALALANE – A 44-year-old woman and her 28-year-old co-accused were arrested for possession of illegal cigarettes worth over a R100 000.

Ms Martha Mabuza and Mr Vusi Tibane were arrested by members of the Hawks Commercial Crime Investigation Unit at Malalane.

They were found in possession of illicit cigarettes. Their White Volkswagen Polo was loaded with 11 boxes of Pacific Blue worth an estimated value of R100 000.

Both suspects appeared before the Tonga Magistrate’s Court yesterday and they were released on R3 000 bail each.

The case was postponed to August 15 for further investigation.
