Man and woman in court today over cable theft

It is alleged that the cables were stolen from an Eskom storeroom in Thulamashe and sold to Mathebula for manufacturing her three-legged pots.

THULAMAHASHE – A 57-year-old woman and a 44-year old man appeared before the Mhala Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen aluminium cables worth over R145 000.

Ms Mogadi Annah Mathebula and Mr Olivier Billy Ntimane were arrested on September 1 by members of the Hawks and members of the rapid rail respond police unit on September 1 after receiving information about them.

It is alleged that the cables were stolen from an Eskom storeroom in Thulamashe and sold to Mathebula for manufacturing her three-legged pots. The two are appearing in court today for their formal bail application.
