Couple’s in court
It is alleged that during 2013, the wife registered a company with the municipality.
An ex- financial manager for the Mkhondo Local Municipality in Piet Retief and his partner are set to appear before the Pretoria’ Special Commercial Crimes Court today on charges of fraud.
The man (37) and his partner (33), who can’t be named, were arrested by the Middelburg Hawks. It is alleged that during 2013, the wife registered a company with the municipality.
The husband, who was working as the financial manager for the municipality, then submitted fraudulent documents claiming that the company had rendered services to the municipality when it did not.They had, however, defrauded the municipality over R2-million.
The verdict of their court appearance has not yet been revealed.
