Six suspects remanded in custody for theft of coal

Three of the six suspects did not produce their identity documents. The case was postponed to August 8 for a formal bail application.

MPUMALANGA – Members of the Hawks in Mpumalanga responded to a tip-off on Wednesday, July 26 about a syndicate that was planning to steal coal from Graspan Colliery Mine in Middelburg.

“The suspects loaded the coal but traffic officers and the police stopped the vehicles and were arrested after they failed to produce proof of purchase,” said the Hawks.

Ndoloza Albert Dihamini (45), Titos Jokonya, Tariro Idzai Mtswango, Paulus Masango, Musa Mzwandile Nhlabatsi (43), Layton Tungamirai Zirobwa (27) were remanded in custody and their case was postponed to August 8 for a formal bail application.
