Hotel receptionist found guilty for fraud
An illegal Point Of Sale Device which the accused used to unlawfully process customers' payments was confiscated during the arrest.
ERMELO– A hotel receptionist at Ermelo Inn, Oscar Ngcungama (37) was convicted for bank card fraud by the Regional Court last Friday.
The accused was arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Unit on May 29, 2009, following a sting operation at the hotel. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment with an option of a R40 000,00 fine.
