MBOMBELA – The four suspects who escaped from custody at Pienaar Police Station last week were sentenced to 36 months in jail each at the Kanyamazane Magistrate’s Court today.

Vusi Ceko, Senzo Nyambi, Bongani “Bogra” Mpila and Sifiso Mathonsi. The convicts went into hiding for six days before they were rearrested in Skhwahlane village near Tonga.

This concerted effort saw Nyambi, Ceko as well as Mpila being found hiding in a house whereas Mathonsi was found having boarded with a car.

The four are expected to appear at the same court on April 17 facing 32 charges of house robberies and murder.
