SWALLOWSNEST – Three Tanzanian nationals were arrested by police of Hartebeeskop Police Station after being found in possession of dagga weighing more than 193,45kg.
The men aged 47, 29 and 30, were arrested while driving in their bakkie to the Badisgood Village, a few kilometres from the Swaziland Border adjacent to the Oshoek Border Post at about 07:00 on Monday.
According to the police officials who made the arrest, the suspects allegedly confessed to have smuggled the dagga through illegal entry points from Swaziland and were intending to transport it to Johannesburg.
The trio briefly appeared in the Eesterhoek Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
