EFF members defect to ruling party
There were, however, allegations of ill-discipline levelled against these four members by the EFF which has even threatened to lay criminal charges against them.

MBOMBELA – Cracks are beginning to show in the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and this became apparent when four of its senior members defected to the ANC on Tuesday.
They were welcomed back to the party by NEC member, Mr David Mahlobo, the provincial leadership led by its chairperson, Mr David Mabuza, secretary, Mr Lucky Ndinisa, treasurer, Mr Andries Gamede and the regional leadership, deputy chairperson, Mr Siphiwe Mashile and secretary, Mr Pat Ngomane. The four served in the regional structures of the EFF within the Ehlanzeni district and have vowed to bring back even more members who left the ANC for Mr Julius Malema’s party.
There were, however, allegations of ill-discipline levelled against these four members by the EFF which has even threatened to lay criminal charges against them, a move which Mabuza strongly defended, citing that they would cross that bridge when they came to it.
“If there are charges from the other side, it’s fine, we will deal with them when we get there but today we just want to welcome back our members and don’t want to talk about the EFF because this is our meeting and not theirs,” said Mabuza.
He said they were expecting more members who had earlier left the ANC, to come back home.
“We have a plan in place to go to the general members who were earlier recruited to the EFF and other political parties and we will recruit them back to the ANC. We want them back home and we are going to do it aggressively. In addition, we are going to step up our drive, as we are aware of the fact that we are left with only a few weeks before the elections,” he added.
“We will go back and deal with those minor frictions and conflict in the branches. We are prepared to listen to our members and their complaints.”
Ndinisa, said the ANC was not a “weekend special” organisation, meaning that his party didn’t operate only on weekends or during campaigns, but that its doors were open from Monday to Monday.
Although the four members didn’t give a straight answer about the reason for changing their minds, or what had driven them back home, they cited even more and bigger problems in the EFF.
