NELSPRUIT- After the success of last year’s Summer Heat model and talent search, it was again hosted with a modern approach and proudly international standard at Mafunyane Riverside Water Park on Saturday.
In the pursuit of finding the Summer Heat model, singer, actor or dancer of the year, the roadshow stopped in Mpumalanga. The turnout was outstanding; from models to guitar players coming from Ermelo to Pilgrim’s Rest. According to Elsubie de Lange, director of Just You Model and Artist Management and one of the judges, the province has tons of talent and she was surprised to see how many youngsters have what it takes to go to the next level. The other two judges were Vicky van Jaarsveld, co-owner of Summer Heat accompanied by Danielle Hassink, Miss Teen Mafunyane and Miss Summer Heat Jr Mpumalanga of 2011, who also resides in Nelspruit.
After the best of the best were chosen, a workshop was held with two finalists in each category. They were invited to participate in the glittering gala later this year. The venue is has yet to be finalised. According to De Lange, the ball is now in their court and it is their choice if they want to further pursue their dream. The roadshow will continue to travel the country during the rest of the month and March.
