Team Mpumalanga set for clash of the choirs
On the first day of the auditions, the choirmaster went out and about on the streets of Nelspruit and surrounding areas of Kanyamazane, looking for talent to impress her to acquire a jump in the queue card to the auditions.

Out of hundreds of hopefuls auditioning for this year’s season of Clash Of The Choir, only 20 went back home rejoicing.Hailing from all corners of the province, nervous contestants could not hide the state of their nerves while waiting to impress choir master, Monea Moshesh at Mbombela stadium.
The vivacious Monea had swapped the microphone for the choirmaster’s chair on Saturday and Sunday, putting together the choir that will represent the province during the show’s second season.
Singing sensation, Moneoa, rose to fame with a release of her album ‘Coming from Going To’ when she started her career at Rawknait Entertainment and worked on collaborations with the likes of Shugasmakx, Revolution, DJ Kent, Ebsian and Lulo Café. Her well know chart topping song is ‘More Than You’.
“I’m excited to be part of this amazing show that challenges choirs to sing outside their comfort zone. Allowing them to rearrange well known RnB, Afro-pop songs into choir format sound. I am in this to win it for Mpumalanga,” said Moneoa.
She added that she was impressed with her choice saying that the other teams should brace themselves for the huge competition coming their way this year.

Whilst at the main auditions venue, Christine Ludwig, the vocal coach, was short-listing contestants to see Moneoa during the second round on Sunday.
“We spotted raw talent during the tour and I was amazed at what small towns like Matsulu had to offer. I can safely say that we have a strong team. Watch the space, here comes team Mpumalanga!” said the excited Monewa.
On the second day of the auditions, contestants were challenged to perform different genres of music from Pop, RnB and Gospel to Kwaito – in a choral formation.
One of the hopefuls who has been selected to be part of the selected choir, Sello Mbowane from Mkhuhlu, was overjoyed at being selected out of many talented singers.
“This year, Mpumalanga is taking the grand prize because I am in. I’m confident that Monewa will take us to greater heights. She is a greater and organised musician,” said the excited Mbowane.
