School signs pledge to excel
They said this will be achieved through conducting extra classes, being in class teaching and fully enhancing learners where they need help.
KANYAMAZANE – Grade 12 teachers, parents and learners of Sitintile High School recently signed pledges to achieve a 100per cent pass rate in this year’s matric results.
This happened during the school’s thanksgiving and motivation day held at the Kanyamazane Community hall on February 23.
The teachers pledged to learners as their first priority in all their duties, they commit themselves in producing quality learners who will be in a position of obtaining a 100 per cent pass rate with distinctions in their final examinations.
They said this will be achieved through conducting extra classes, being in class teaching and fully enhancing learners where they need help.
The school’s 134 matric learners also commit themselves to attend school on a regular basis, respect their educators, educators and their fellow colleagues.They also pledged to study hard, do their homework, and attend extra classes and other school activities.
Their parents, on the other side, fully declared to be committed in the education of their children, participate in all school activities, pay school fees and all excursions.Parents were urged to support to be interested in the studies of their learners, check their school performances.
Speaker after speaker inspired and motivated the grade 12 learners to work hard from the beginning of the year to achieve the best results.
Former learners who are now qualified expect in different fields also motivated the learners that being graduates is possible and achievable. Ms Philadelphia Madonsela spoke at length about life at the university, telling the learners what to expect there.
“This will be the best time of your life once you approach it positively. It’s full of fun, parties happen from Monday to Monday and it is upon you as an individual to be responsible to make the right choices.
Sometimes you will feel like giving up, but you have your parents and teachers to look up to,” she said.
“Inspiration will drive you to success. The greatest gift you can give yourself is to love and believe in yourself. No barriers will stop you even if others turn their backs on you,” she said.
The event was also coupled with the awarding of teachers and learners who achieved best marks in the 2013 matric exams.
