Community fix horrendous roads
"We are surprised at how the municipality operates because each time a grader comes in to regravel the roads, it only does so on the one to the Phumlani section

MSHOLOZI – This community has decided to take service delivery into their own hands, and has begun fixing the horrendous roads in the area.
Members of the public have banded together to patch up potholes in an attempt to make the routes better for everyday use by vehicles.
In return for this service, they request donations from passing motorists from as little as 50 cents – some ignore them and complain that they can’t pay for toll gates within the village.
“We are surprised at how the municipality operates because each time a grader comes in to regravel the roads, it only does so on the one to the Phumlani section.
No roadworks are ever done along the main road to Msholozi A, C and D,” said
Mr Donald Motha.
The area’s councillor, Cllr Kenneth Mkhonto, said he was aware of the issue and other problems that concerned the community. “The grader will definitely cross over to section A, C and D soon,” he promised.
On a different topic, Mkhonto condemned the recent attack on a young man at A section.
“I was informed of the attack on Saturday night and went to the place on Sunday where I found that the victim had been admitted to Themba Hospital. We will still have a meeting with the parties concerned to get to the bottom of the matter. No one has the right to attack others,” he added.
