Hundreds treated on train

Doctors and specialists on the train provided cancer and diabetics screening, health clinic services, optical eye services, dental services and a pharmacy for minor ailments.

MBOMBELA – Hundreds came from communities around Mbombela for free health services at the Phelophepha Health Train stationed near the South African Brewery and Blank Water Mills in town.

The train, scheduled to be there for the whole week, attracted people from Matsulu, Malekutu, KaNyamazane, Mattafin and other areas. Doctors and specialists on the train provided cancer and diabetics screening, health clinic services, optical eye services, dental services and a pharmacy for minor ailments.

Patients contributed as little as R10 to R15 for cleaning and fixing their teeth.
