MBOMBELA – Bereaved families have started identifying the victims of a horrific accident that claimed 10 lives in White River last week.
Fourty others were injured after a truck collided head on with a bus, a truck and an SUV on the R40.
Meanwhile, a number of motorists have raised concerns about the accidents involving trucks that recently took place on the same road.
“This is the third accident in a period of two weeks and that is a frightening concern,” said Ms Lindiwe Msumba.
Visiting the accident scene last week, MEC for safety, security and community liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe attributed accidents on the road to human error.
“Our roads are safe to drive on, motorists should exercise caution and tolerance on the roads,” he said.
The results of the DNA samples will only be available in a week’s time to identify those who were burnt beyond recognition.
