IEC ready for by-election

The by - election come after the passing away of a councillor.

MATSULU -The Electoral Commission (IEC) in the province indicated that its ready for the by-elections of ward 28 and is urging residents of that area to come in numbers to their voting station to register this coming weekend.

It is reported that the by-elections will be held in September 2014. These elections come after the passing away of a councillor.

According to the commission, it is legal that before the by-election takes place, residents in the ward must get an opportunity to register.

To ensure that the process will go smoothly, IEC allocated three voting stations in the area which are as follows Masitakhe high school, Funindlela and Takheleni primary schools.

The spokesperson of IEC in the province Mr Sibusiso Nkosi said:
“We’d like to call upon residents of the ward to use this opportunity, come in numbers to register for the by-elections that will be held next month,“ he explained.
