MASOYI- A 20-year-old suspected serial rapist will appear in the Masoyi Magistrate’s court for his formal bail application next Tuesday.
The suspect along with his unknown accomplice is alleged to have raped and robbed a 20- year- old matric pupil last year in Masoyi near Hazyview on her way back from her matric dance.
According to provincial police spokesperson Brig Selvy Mohlala the suspect has been linked to other unsolved rape cases in the area since his arrest. “The police are still waiting for the DNA results on all these cases,” he said.
The provincial commissioner Lt Gen Thulani Ntobela also urged other suspects who were involved in the crime to hand themselves the police, “We warn other criminals to follow suit and do what is good for them and the community by handing themselves over to the police just like this suspect has done” he said.
