Water tanks will alleviate shortage

DAANTJIE – Lack of water will be a thing of the past for the community. Executive mayor of Mbombela Local Municipality (MLM), Cllr Sibusiso Mathonsi delivered five water tanks to the area last Thursday.

A member of the mayoral committee for water and sanitation, Cllr Phazamisa Mathe said,

“The province has been facing difficulties with delivery of basic services such as clean water, so we decided to come up with a new system that we hope will eliminate those problems.
“We call upon our drivers, the ambassadors, because they will be working 24/7 in providing water to the communities. Any person who comes across a problem regarding water, should inform us about it. These are your vehicles, let’s use them for a good cause.”

The occasion was attended by Mathonsi, as he was the first to test drive one of the vehicles. During the remarkable event, blankets and food parcels were also donated to more than 200 elderly community members.
“We made a promise to build a friendly relationship with our people, hence we came here to honour those promises,” Mathonsi concluded.
