Pregnant wife shoots husband

The deceased's body was found lying in a pool of blood and his wife was arrested on a charge of murder.

MASOYI – In a bizarre incident, a 30-year-old traffic cop was killed by his pregnant wife on Sunday.
The man was supposedly shot dead with his own service pistol at his home in Phola Village.
According to police information the cop, who was hanging out with his friends, received an urgent call from his wife to return home.

“He and one of his friends drove home and as he entered the house, a shot was fired.
His 29-year-old wife shot him beneath his chin and the bullet protruded the back of his head.
“He died on the scene,” confirmed a police officer of Masoyi Police Station who could not be named as he was not the spokesperson.

It was stated that the wife then informed her husband’s friend of what she had done. Police were then called to the scene.

The deceased’s body was found lying in a pool of blood and his wife was arrested on a charge of murder. “She was too traumatised to say anything.” She will appear in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court soon.

This incident occurred almost three days after the release of the national crime statistics, wherein police minister Mr Nkosinathi Nhleko said murder and violent crime statistics had increased in the country compared to last year.
“Murder, attempted murder and robbery are all up this year,” he said. Countrywide murder had increased by five per cent.
