Churches urged to pray for matriculants
The matric learners will start writing their exams on Monday, October 27.
MBOMBELA – The Mpumalanga Department of Education, Culture, Sport and Recreation in collaboration with the Moral Regeneration Movement request all religious institutions and communities to conduct prayer sessions of goodwill for all learners who will be writing their final examinations this year.
The matric learners will start writing their exams on Monday, October 27.
The povince has 54 000 learners registered to write these examinations and is expecting the results to improve from 77.6% which was obtained in 2013 to 87.6%. The announcement of results will be made on January 06, 2015.
The Provincial Prayer Session will be held today (Thursday, October 23) at Ingwenyama Lodge from 17:00 at an event to be graced by the MEC for education, Ms Reginah Mhaule and all pastors are invited.
“I humbly request all religious institutions to dedicate this time to pray for all learners who will be sitting for the final examinations, for the smooth management of the examination process as it has happened in the past four years.
May you also pray for a qualitative pass rate. Teachers and schools have done their part all we need to do now is to offer our undivided support to our learners through prayers as well,” said Mhaule.
