Things are not all in order at Home Affairs
Spokesperson for the department, Mr Robert Zitha, has expressed shock at the absence of a floorwalker in the office and says he will have it checked out immediately.

MBOMBELA- Complaints and dissatisfaction are an old hat for the Department of Home Affairs, thus it comes as no surprise that so many people are still voicing out grievances.
After receiving numerous calls, Mpumalanga News took the time to listen to people’s complaints about this department.
“I have not been attended to for the past hour, I do not know where to go from here. Everyone seems to be busy and unapproachable. I don’t know what the strategy is, but it is definitely not working in this office,” said a disgruntled SANDF employee who did not wish to be named.
This gentleman wasn’t the only one upset with the service provided.
“I have been sitting here for 40 minutes and I’m only here to collect my passport. The people here aren’t very helpful, I have been given a certain number and I’m still waiting, when I enquire I’m told I should wait a little longer,” said an unhappy Mr Dryn Edwards.
“There is no direction with the queues and it will be even more difficult for an illiterate person because they will just feel lost. I hope they do something to fix this system,” he added.
However, it is not all doom and gloom for the department, some people say they appreciate the little help they are offered.
“It’s not all bad, there is truth in the complaints of some people, but at the end of the day, we do get what we are here for. One just has to set aside the day in order to deal with this department,” said a woman who did not wish to be named.
Spokesperson for the department, Mr Robert Zitha, has expressed shock at the absence of a floorwalker in the office and says he will have it checked out immediately.
“Funny enough, we had a meeting on Friday and I stressed the need for every office to have a floorwalker. This is for the people to know which bench to sit on, to ask their needs and clear the neccessary documents for them. I can confirm that I will personally investigate this and try and sort it out with the office manager,” he said.
