MBOMBELA – A Monday morning seemed like a Friday for the Vodacom family in town. This was during their official launch of the Vodacom 20X More Summer. Staff members were dressed in summer outfits and shades complemented the occasion.

“This summer we are taking the fun and celebration to a whole new level. It is all about giving back and we are doing it 20 times more. We’ll be giving away 400 million gifts that include free Facebook for a week, 60 minutes of free airtime, 100MB of data, and discount vouchers for Edgars and Jet to name a few.

It’s our way to say thank you to everybody who supported us for the last 20 years and to make sure that not only South Africa, but Mpumalanga is smiling this festive season,” said Louisa van Beek, Vodacom Mpumalanga’s managing executive.

To prove that charity indeed begins at home, the staff members participated in games and walked away with various prices. “We did notwant to centre everything around telecommunications, we want to impact the lives of our customers in a very sentimental way.

We will also be giving away burgers and bigger gifts during our outreaches. We have also customised the gift in a sense that we get to see what you use most in terms of voice, data, or SMS, and we give you more of that as you recharge,” she added.

“Vodacom will also give away R1 million worth of prizes on Facebook from the middle of November.

To stand a chance to win, customers who have recharged with R12 or more or bought a summer offer just need to visit the Vodacom Facebook page and fill in their details on the 20x More Summer tab. The prizes, which range from Vodacom products to store vouchers, are valued at R500 to R2 000 each.

“This year we are saying people must forget about all the problems we encounter every day in our human journey, they must just sit back and have fun,” she said.
