Emmanuel Assemblies celebrates new building

STEENBOK – Emmanuel Assemblies brought a whole new meaning to the word “unity” when it got the whole community together in song and dance on Sunday. The church officially opened its new building and commemorated this past year.

“We are in a celebratory mood and we acknowledge the Lord for such a long yet incredible journey. It hasn’t been easy, but we have made it and we are grateful,” said, Past Judah Sambo.

The occasion was graced by dignitaries from the local fraternity as well as provincial bishops of the church. “We are officially opening this church, not only for Emmanuel Assemblies congregants, but for the whole community whenever they want to use it for the good of this Christian journey.

This church now belongs to Steenbok, and we believe it will be taken care of by the same people,” said Bishop Jeremiah Vilakazi.

Vilakazi went on to speak against the spirit of segregation within the church. “We don’t want to see an instance where prostitutes or people with ancestral calling (emadloti) are chased out of the church, this is the house of the Lord, and therefore it is open to anyone.

We all come to get our healing from this place, no discrimination in any form, shape or whatsoever, should be experienced here,” he said.

The day which saw Christians from AmaZioni to ZCC, Abazalwane and the tribal authorities realm come together, was then concluded with good food and networking.
