Get to know entrepreneur, humanitarian and Jacaranda FM radio personality Tsakane Ndubane.
Mpumalanga News asked her about her journey and life in general.
What does it take for a young woman to rise from the ashes as a bona fide from Matsulu to the higher echelons of life that you’ve reached?
It takes the grace of God, a strong support system at home, great mentors, positive role models and purposefully deciding to break the mould, never conforming, a hunger to learn more and paying it forward.
Describe the challenges that you’ve encountered in your working life and how you overcame them.
Working at a young age meant having to grow up quickly in a short space of time taught me that all I do can either positively or negatively impact my employers brand, business and profit margins.
So I chose the positive route always bringing my A game and learning at every opportunity to improve my efficiency and add value to all I do.
If you had a choice, would you revert to your previous career or are you comfortable where you are?
I don’t believe in moving forward while looking back, so no I wouldn’t. I have learned from my past career paths and those lessons have been building blocks for me to move forward.
Comfort, no I don’t do comfort – I’d rather be comfortable being uncomfortable cause then I’m being challenged. It is vital to be challenged cause that brings about change, new hope, skills and opportunity.
What really ticks you off?
People who don’t take opportunities that are freely available to them.
What’s your festive message to youngsters?
Unawareness will rob you. Stay informed and use your time wisely, yes YOLO (you only live once) but be wise.
Let 2015 be your yes year and do things differently – it’s worth it!
