CAPE TOWN – ANC bigwigs, the business fraternity and other individuals will gather at the International Convention Centre (CICC) tomorrow evening for a gala dinner ahead of the main January 8 address on Saturday at the Cape Town Stadium.
At the gala dinner, patrons are expected to vie for some of the most exorbitant seating at the president Mr Jacob Zuma’s table at R3 million a head.
It remains to be seen which nine people will complement the 10-seater table with him.
Deputy president Mr Cyril Ramaphosa’s table next to it goes for R2 million a head, and there is also seating at R1 million for which patrons can join ANC dignitaries and ministers, or else go for the R150 000 table.
The ordinary seating will cost R150.
Zuma is expected to name key aims for 2015 which will outline the organisation’s plan of action ahead of the 2016 local government elections.
At the same time, he will give direction on preparations for the national general council and give direction for the holding of provincial general councils.
It has also been reported that the ANC has arranged more than 400 buses,
30 trains and more than 1 000 taxis to ferry people to the main event on Saturday.
Last year the 102nd celebration was held at the Mbombela Stadium and the city experienced the biggest turnout of ANC members which had a positive economic spin-off for the capital.
