Nene meets her new family
The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB) will once again make the fight against illegal gambling and the promotion of responsible gambling a priority on its agenda.

WHITE RIVER – The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB) will once again make the fight against illegal gambling and the promotion of responsible gambling a priority on its agenda.
This bold announcement was made by the gambling regulatory’s CEO, Mr Bheki Mlambo during the official welcoming luncheon of the newly crowned queen of the province, Ms Zamanene Nene, last Friday.
“Our objective really is to reach out to all the communities out there and spread the messages of responsible gambling,” said Mlambo.
After winning the coveted crown of Miss Mpumalanga, the new queen, sassy and vivaciously gorgeous Nene finally joined her new families, the MGB and the Mzimari Productions.
Nene who was officially welcomed by the MGB staff, will spend the next year spearheading the gambling board’s anti-illegal gambling campaigns throughout the province.
“We are really happy to finally have you here. We are happy to begin this long journey with you.
“We hope that you will enjoy your reign and your work with us,” Mlambo welcomed her. “Your predecessors have left big shoes to fill and we hope you are up for the challenge.
“We hope that you will take the baton and represent the MGB and its objective well,”Mlambo continued.
He added, “We also want to thank Mzimari Productions for making sure that the processes culminating in the actual crowning of the new queen go smoothly. And we are happy that you have managed to pull it off.”
The MGB, who recently attained yet another clean audit, has been dominating media headlines with their strong anti-illegal and responsible gambling campaigns. These campaigns and strong leadership are believed to have hugely contributed in the appointment of Mlambo to serve as the vice-president for the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR).
The focus will be directed more towards young people and according to Mlambo, this is where Nene will have a significant role to play.
Besides these campaigns, Nene is expected to lead the HIV/Aids campaigns and do charity work for the DD Mabuza Foundation, which currently offers bursaries to over 100 students from disadvantaged family backgrounds.
