Church reaches out to learners

Aiming at bridging the gap between the church and the community, the Methodist Church of South Africa handed dignity packs out at Masihambisane Primary last week.

PIENAAR – Aiming at bridging the gap between the church and the community, the Methodist Church of South Africa handed dignity packs out at Masihambisane Primary last week.

“As a church we cannot fold arms and wait for the government, but we must play a role and impact the lives of people in as many possible ways as we can,” said Ms Esther Nkosi, a church member.

Under the leadership of Rev Samson Nhlapo and his wife, Dudu, the church identified impoverished pupils and presented them with washing cloths, toothpaste and sanitary towels.

Expressing his gratitude, the principal, Mr Vusi Lukhele said that the packs would assist the learners and make their school days enjoyable as they were supposed to be for any other learner, needy or not.
