He attended leadership workshops and camps to sharpen his skills that resulted in his being a top learner from grade six to grade nine for four consecutive years.

KANYAMAZANE – The Eskom Expo for young scientists ambassador, Bongani Shube is ready to represent South Africa at the 15th Milset Expo, Sciences International (ESI 2015) to be held in Brussels, Belgium from July 19 to 25.

His achievement and effort gave positive motivation to his fellow l learners at Sitintile Secondary School.Shube was born and raised here and showed great interest in his schoolwork at a very young age. In 2010, he was a deputy head of the school while he was in primary school (Tenteleni Primary School), and he became the head of the school in 2012.

He then attended leadership workshops and camps to sharpen his skills that resulted in his being a top learner from grade six to grade nine for four consecutive years. He currently has 70 awards, which are 51 certificates, five medals and 14 trophies. His father, Mr Moses Shube said he was speechless because his boy didnt usually speak much.

“When you give him a tip or an instruction, he gains more information on what you said. I thank Mr Harold Gondwe, the school principal, for giving us an opportunity as a family to shine through my son’s prowess. Most people believe that good things happen only in suburbs, and here we are.

“I thank the community as well for being so supportive. Bongani, they say the sky is the limit, I say the sky is the universe, don’t stop today, continue moving the world forever,” said Shube.Keynote address by Mr Bailey Nkuna, representing the Department of Education, stated he was blessed by Sitintile Secondary School as a whole.

“I’ve decided to put on a suit today not just to look smart, but to honour this young man.In life, Bongani Shube and other learners have proven to us that it is possible to achieve good things.
Mr Moses Mlombo is one of the best teachers the province has produced in science.

“I feel it is important to mention that he is one of the fathers of our district. He used to send a lot of projects to the science expo. I would also like to pay my sincere graduate to Ms Manzini, because most female teachers do not participate in this project, they believe there are no rewards in the end,” he pointed out.

He concluded encouraging Bongani and other learners of Sitintile Secondary School to join hands for success in their careers. “We need to know where we are going. If we work together in unison as a community and support each other as well, we will reach greater heights.

“To the business community that is here, we say though Eskom is the main funder of this project, we need more funding to able to drive this expo. Yes, they are funding at a higher level, but at the lower level we need funding too,” ended Nkuna.
