Be aware of the unwanted veld fires

MBOMBELA-The past few days between July 6 and July 12 had been very hectic for fire fighters especially in the Highveld; lowveld and Escarpment regions of the province fires were reported. This was because of fire spread fast uphill than downhill, where the humidity is low and fuel load is high, when the wind speed is high as well.

According to Nothando Shezi spokesperson for WoF in Mpumalanga other few ways of preventing the spread of fires in communities includes ploughing, hoeing, removing of dead trees, branches and leaves close to the property.

WoF has stationed in 23 bases across the province, they are working hard to save the environment, and human lives from the harm that could be cause by unwanted veld and forestry fires.
