Security vehicle robbed at gunpoint
The G4S vehicle was riddled with bullet holes after it was robbed an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint last Monday between Kabokweni and Pienaar road by an unknown gang.

NEWSKOM – After Mbombela suffered two heists in a day last month, the G4S security personnel were left stunned and in shock when their vehicle was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash on their way to Lihawu on Monday.
Residents alleged they saw a white BMW and other cars ambushing the G4S vehicle. They said about 10 men surrounded the vehicle, including a woman who was also part of the gang.
They also stated that they used explosives to open the back of the
vehicle and shot at the tyres to force it to a standstill. Traffic was delayed as the forensic team and police were trying to control the scene.
This journalist, who was on the scene on Monday, observed that the G4 S vehicle was riddled with bullet holes.
The incident took place on the busy road which resulted in a traffic jam for nearly two hours, but police and traffic officers assisted with the flow by opening one lane.
According to Brig Selvy Mohlala, spokesperson for the provincial police the incident took place around 16:00 while the vehicle was travelling between KaBokweni and Pienaar. “The attackers ordered the driver and his assistants to lie down.They took an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint and fled the scene,” he said.
