The Mpumalanga Department of Health has learnt with shock about the sudden death of a Doctor at Themba hospital Kabokweni.

The Mpumalanga Department of Health has learnt with shock about the sudden death of a Doctor at Themba hospital Kabokweni.

Doctor Linda Xulu, a male general practitioner died yesterday on Monday the 21st of September 2015 in the evening while jogging in White River.

It is alleged that while at home in White River, he decided to exercise by jogging. While jogging, he suddenly collapsed and died about 800 meters from his house. The Department’s Medical Emergency Services were called to the scene and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of his death is not yet known as a postmortem is yet to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The MEC for Health, Gilliom Mashego has expressed his sadness over the death of the doctor. “Our deepest condolence goes out to the bereaved family of the doctor. It is a sad thing to lose such a young doctor whist the province is in need of more doctors. It is quite a huge for our health sector” said Mashego.
