The heatwave with persistently high temperatures has affected parts of Mpumalanga Province with severe weather outbreak of about 50 degrees Celsius.
The Chief Operating Officer of Rand Water, Mr Sipho Mosai has requested all South Africans to use water wisely after the country experience drought.

He stated communities should change the way they use watering practices.

The agricultural organisations have also called the government to consider the drought challenge facing the country with a possible programme to assist financially crop farmers in the country.
