Offenders to learn more about saving water

MBOMBELA – The department of water affairs in conjunction with the department of correctional services will run safe water awareness campaigns in various correctional facilities.

The spokesperson of the correctional facility in Barberton, Mr Mesia Nhlongwane said the initiative is part and parcel of the department’s manner of teaching offenders to save water.

“The awareness campaign will be running for two days. The aim of it is to teach offenders on how to save water since our province is among those who are affected by drought in the country,” said Mesia.

Mpumalanga News learnt that some of the offenders will be given an opportunity to share their ideas that will play a crucial role in saving water in the society.
