Mdluli says doing business is his second nature, but it can be exhausting at times and that the thing that keeps him sane and grounded is his charity work.

KABOKWENI – JV Mdluli is no stranger to people in the township, even those who cannot match the face to the name. This entrepreneur of note, especially in property development, has now made a legacy for himself as a philanthropist.

Mdluli says doing business is his second nature, but it can be exhausting at times and that the thing that keeps him sane and grounded is his charity work.

Mpumalanga News caught up with him at one of his private properties to talk about life outside of business. He said relaxation, to him, meants making a difference in someone’s life, hence he sits on the board of directors at many organisations that contribute to the well-being of the community. One of them being chairperson of the clinic committee for rural areas, which acts as a link between the community and health-care services.

JV, as he is popularly known in the township, says it is so therapeutic to him when he hands out uniforms in the beginning of the school year to less fortunate children. Making a difference in someone’s life puts a smile on his face. He has adopted Moses Sihlangu Orphanage, which fosters about 50 children and meets their needs to the best of their ability.
